 What is Bodywork?

Bodywork includes any manual hands on therapeutic treatments such as; massage, stretching, fascial work and energy techniques.

Massage involves the mechanical manipulation of soft tissues and is commonly used throughout sports, incorporating ‘Swedish Massage’ and its variations.  A variety of techniques are used including effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, frictions, vibration.

The beneficial effects of massage include musculoskeletal alignment, release of muscular tension and pain, supporting the removal of waste products, reduction of muscle soreness and improved flexibility and posture.

Massage is probably one of the most popular styles of manual bodywork therapy that is commonly used a variety of people.  Essentially it involves the manipulation of soft tissue for therapeutic purposes. 

Serendipity Wellness® uses massage, instrument assisted massage, neuromuscular massage, connective tissue massage, and lymphatic massage where appropriate and all dependent upon the individual client requirements.
